Life and it's Many FacesI wake up in the morning before the sun does, as I do every morning. The room, the bed, the apartment I wake up in are strange, because they are new, new to me at least. I lay in bed for a few minutes allowing my brain to acclimate. A feeling comes over me, as if everything, the apartment, the bed, the life I’m living, as if its all temporary. And I don’t mean “we’re all going to die eventually” kind of temporary, I mean I feel as if today, this week, this month, soon, things are going to change. my life, the whole world, is going to undergo a massive change. Above the LightsThe town of Brattleboro effectively dies somewhere in the PM between 6 and 9. The people go home, the stores close, and the bars open, so if you’re under 21 or just don’t drink, then you have to find your own little adventures in this odd little city. This story is about one of those adventures.   
 It’s a habit of my friends and I to take the less traveled roads around town. Now, I don’t just mean the back alleys or the dirt roads, I’m talking about the ups and downs, unders and overs and all that. 11:34pm, and this town is dying. Single thoughts like myself still whisper and wane down its neural pathways, as cells roll by on rain slicked veins, fewer now that the lights have gone out upstairs, and soon there won’t be any left at all.  This town is so different at night, patches of it completely gone, in the distance you see only neon signs advertising Bud Light, and warning you that you will be persecuted if you were born in the wrong time and try to consume the piss water. HI.
So, I'm trying pretty hard to write a short story that's longer then 1 page and has an ending. I WOULD post the first part of it here, but last time I did that I never ever finished it, and although the two things are unrelated, I would like to finish it before I post even a little bit. BUT I'm hoping all four of you will soon get to read "Herbert's Paradise." Its my jab at post apocalyptic fiction, and its been a blast to write so far.

SPEAKING of there only being four of you, it would be radX200 if you all could get your friends to hit that little watch button. But only if they want to. And I can add them too.
But only if I want to.
